In the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), the importance of an early diagnosis is internationally recognized. Indeed, the sooner a diagnosis is made, the sooner the child and his family can benefit from an adequate intervention. Early intervention, unlike an intervention that comes later, has a greater impact on the development of the child and on the quality of life of the family system. This tool stems from the need to actively and directly involve professionals and volunteers working in the field of early childhood, in the early identification of those peculiar behaviors that could lead to a diagnosis of ASD.
For this purpose, the Foundation has created and manages a specific and specialized Information and Documentation Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. A national and international observer who compares and collaborates with other organizations that conduct projects in the same field, which develops and promotes information and awareness-raising activities.
Green and Red Bells is not a diagnostic tool, but an observation guide, which aims to facilitate communication with family members and professionals who will, if necessary, investigate the diagnostic aspect. The manual has the dual purpose of facilitating the observation of the child, by means of cards who can be easily administered, and helping to communicate what has been observed in an objective and effective manner, thanks to the attached summary sheet, which helps highlight any priorities in the following discussion.

Video-Tutorial "Green and Red Bells - Early Screening Tool in Autism Spectrum Disorders" (ARES Foundation Editions - EFA). The Tool presented in this video stems from the need to actively and directly involve professionals working in early childhood education. The content of the first part covers child development in the first three years. The second section shows 26 illustrated items, with the aim of facilitating observation of the child’s behaviour during the first three years. The third chapter is dedicated to intervention as, once a diagnosis has been made, an early evidence based intervention must be set up for the child.
